The route runs through Valsassina following the Pioverna stream. The departure is in Barzio, near the headquarters of the Valsassina Valvarrone Val d'Esino e Riviera mountain community; in the same parking area there is also the "La fornace" museum, which tells the customs, traditions and history of the valley (it can be visited by reservation). From here, take the paved bicycle path that immediately plunges into the meadows, past a small bridge and then continues to the right flanking the Pioverna stream. Along the cycle path the rock face where the Guide's house and climbing wall are located is clearly visible; beyond the underpass, on the right stands on the rock outcrop the madonna that watches over the valley. When you reach a small parking lot keep to the right and after a wide curve to the left you are in front of the characteristic Sprizzotolo Waterfall. Then cross the river on a footbridge until you reach the village of Primaluna, in the locality of Ponte di Primaluna where you can refill with fresh water at the fountain. Pedaling further and passing a large riding school you reach the village of Cortabbio where it is possible to visit the peculiar Barite Mines. Then continue following the stream on the left and passing through the village of Cortenova to the village of Bindo, along gentle ups and downs and wide curves in the meadows, alongside the hang glider landing strip and the Pules Park. In this section there are many picnic and bbq areas where you can also refuel with water. The last section ends at the Taceno lock. From here it is possible to continue to the resort of Tartavalle Terme (the spa is closed).
